A new Tier One business, Interface Sealing Solutions (ISS), that delivers engineered sealing solutions for the heavy-duty diesel, automotive drive train and other key market segments, has entered the marketplace with sterling credentials, including TS 16949 certification, a powerful new product offering called Select-a-Seal® Gen II (SAS Gen II), and roots in a company known for its technical innovation, engineering support and cost efficient product applications.
ISS OEM customers will enjoy benefits that include proprietary sealing technologies, extensive validation capabilities, TS design process and customer focused product development.
Gen II and Beyond
In conjunction with its launch as a new business, ISS is bringing to market Select-a-Seal Gen II, the sealing solution that incorporates all of the performance-proven product advantages of SAS Gen I, but has the added benefit of stable bolt load retention at higher temperatures. The product offers affordable durability, a term used to favorably compare GEN II’s pricing with fiber gaskets and durability associated with metal solutions.
Access to proprietary, cost-effective SAS Gen II technology is available exclusively to ISS customers and only through the new ISS business. SAS Gen II has passed GM 3155 reliability testing. ISS customers, including mid-market companies, have access to a range of virtual and on-site design engineering services. Next generation sealing technology, currently branded ExigentTM, is scheduled for launch in 2009. It, too, will be available only to ISS customers through the new organization.
Supply Chain Efficiencies and Quality Assurance
A resource available to the ISS business is a new, fully integrated, lean production facility that provides sufficient capacity to accommodate broad swings in customer orders, while satisfying customer needs for contingency planning. The facility augments SAS production at a nearby location. Both facilities are located in Lancaster, Pa. and are certified according to the automotive industry’s highest quality standard – TS 16949 (the Harmonized Standard for the Automotive Supply Chain).
The new site is equipped to complete all required manufacturing steps, including coating, curing and inspection, and is designed to house additional production modules to keep pace as manufacturing requirements expand.
